LG to fling a fingerprint scanner on LG G3 and G2 Pro smartphones, according to a report from Korean media.
After HTC and
Apple, LG joins the foray to adopt the finger print scanner technology,
according to reports. LG reportedly plans to feature the fingerprint
scanner on its upcoming flagship LG G Pro 2 and the LG G3. LG might
house the fingerprint scanner at the rear panel of the rumored G Pro
successor and G3.
Earlier reports also suggested that LG
Electronics is reportedly working on G3 with a fingerprint scanner. LG's
fingerprint scanner will be very similar to what we saw on the HTC One Max.
The yet to be announced LG G3 will
feature a 1,440 x 2,560-pixel quad HD (2K) display.There's no info on
the display size yet. It's notable the LG G2 featured a 5.2-inch 1080 x
1920 display. The LG G3 is expected to have a 16MP rear camera and an
octa-core processor. According to reports, LG may launch the successor
to the G2 in the second half of 2014.
LG's G3 will be competing against the
future flagships from the rivals. LG's current flagship has struggled as
the company could sell 2.3 million units so far, far below LG's target
of 3 million units. Also check out our LG G2 review and LG G2 vs other premium Android smartphones.
Samsung is also another major name that's focussing on the fingerprint scan technology. According to recent report, the company will be adding the fingerpring scan in its forthcoming flagship Galaxy S5.
